Funding

The South West Occupational Health Nurses Group has a small bursary available for unqualified OH nurses to help them towards gaining a qualification.  Successful applicants may be granted up to £250 towards courses/books.

What the South West Occupational Health Nurses Group will consider funding:

The sponsorship by the SWOHNG is intended for unqualified OH Nurses, in order to help them gain an OH qualification.

Who can apply?
Current paid up members of the SWOHNG, by completing the application form, or by contacting the Group Secretary. NB: The applicant must have been a paid up member of the group for at least two consecutive years.

How much can I apply for?
A maximum of £250 is available for courses or books.

What funding can I request?
Funding may be requested towards attending an Occupational Health Nurse Study Day or for text books required to enhance practice. Funding must be applied for before 31 August by completing the attached application form.

Critical success factors in study applications:
Clarity on why the training/book is relevant, and the difference it will make to enhancing practice.

Study support award basis:
All applications are subject to scrutiny by the Committee on behalf of the Members of the SWOHNG, and will be awarded by unanimous decision. The Committee will fund two applicants per year.

If successful:

  • Funding will be paid retrospectively.
  • Funding may only be awarded once every two years to an individual or company.
